Project Nippon

The plan:
Every plan looks just fine until first contact with the enemy, well in this case the wallet and the limitation of devotion and time. The plan was from the beginning to paint a 28 mm Perry miniatures, DBX based late Renaissance Feudal Japanese samurai army. But after ordering a bunch of models (read more) and doing some maths and thinking it through one more time I realized the following;
  • 28 mm, expensive, real expensive.
  •  A lot of models to paint, and the had to be fairly painted, time consuming.
  • Logistics, transporting, hiding from wife.
  • Existing resources, already had a bunch of 15 mm Japanese models lying around.
I decided the following...
28 mm noway...
15 mm yes way...

Ashigaru Yari

The armies:
Red army and Blue Army, Red Army is the first one out, and the I'm planing to paint a identical army but blue, just to get a historical opponent, and the posibility to make a mega army. In the long I thinking the Mongol invasion or the Koreans.
